A village lane between ochre walls

Our Story

Fifty-four years

One hospital room.
One prayer.
One story God is still writing.

Welcome to
Reach All Nations

A pastor kneeling in prayer beside a young man lying on a rope cot in a village home

In 1970, in a hospital bed in South India

He hated Christians. He mocked pastors. He threw stones at evangelists. As he lay near death a pastor came to visit and offered to pray. The young man refused — I have many gods of my own, I do not need your Jesus.

Later, realising death might be near, he called the pastor back. He simply prayed. That prayer became the turning point of his life. God restored his health and opened his eyes to the beauty of Christ. We do not know the pastor’s name. History has forgotten him. But heaven has not.

The young man recovered and devoted his life to Christ. He studied God’s Word, became a pastor, and planted a church in a remote village. No large crowds. No impressive facilities. No financial resources. Only a deep conviction that Christ was worthy to be proclaimed.

For more than three decades he preached, discipled believers, cared for children and trained young men for ministry. By God’s grace thirty-five young men eventually entered pastoral ministry through his influence. Many serve as pastors and church planters across India today. One of them was his son.

Vijay did not dream of becoming a pastor. He dreamed of escaping poverty — a small thatched house with a leaking roof, no electricity, no running water. At seventeen his parents sent him to Bible college. I went because my parents sent me, he would later say, not because I believed God had called me.

During a season of prayer the Lord impressed a vision on his heart: a hand drawing the outline of the world, a large section marked across it, and the words — I am coming soon. Be prepared. Prepare others. Later a seminary president projected a map onto a screen at a prayer meeting. Vijay recognised it immediately. For the first time he heard the words: the 10/40 Window.

From One Burden to Three Ministries

Twenty-five years ago that burden gave birth to Reach All Nations — not because someone developed a strategic plan, but because Christ continues to build His Church. Since then RAN has trained pastors, planted churches, held conferences, evangelised unreached communities, cared for widows and orphans, and provided relief across India.

As the ministry matured another conviction became clear. Churches are not simply one ministry among many. They are God’s primary instrument for making disciples. Programs come and go. Organisations rise and fall. But Christ promised to build His Church. That conviction gave birth to All Nations Church: a Telugu congregation in the village in 2019, and English and Telugu congregations in the city in 2023.

As churches multiplied, the need for biblically faithful pastors became impossible to ignore. Many churches have no trained shepherd. Many regions remain unreached. That conviction gave birth to Ethne Institute, equipping pastors, missionaries and church planters through rigorous, church-based theological education.
