One of the ways we have been serving the national missionaries since 2006 is through the 40 day Bible training program. It is a residential, intensive, and comprehensive training program. Our goal through this ministry is to train God-glorifying, Christ-exalting, gospel-saturated church planters. Importance is also given to building character and personal prayer. Some of the unique feature of the training include – small group of students, experienced national and international teachers, practical ministry opportunities as we are located in the mission field.
Another way we train local pastors is through several pastors’ conferences each year. A lack of solid Bible teachers and healthy biblical church examples, they are led into the false understanding of the Gospel. These 1-3 day conferences gives us opportunity to reach out, train them, and prepare them to be effective and faithful servants of God’s word. We primarily focus on various books of the Bibles with examples of expository preaching, hermeneutics, biblical theology, pastoral ministry, evangelism, and church planting ministry. It is such a privilege to teach God’s word to those who are hungry to learn and practice over the last 12 years.
The word Ethne in Greek means ‘nations’ which refers to peoples and people groups. Ethne Institute is a highly specialized church-based training program to equip indigenous missionaries and church planters with a deep understanding of the scriptures, ecclesiology, theology, as well as cultural understanding, prior to planting a church in an unengaged people group in the 10/40 window.
